Denver city officials say three Japanese prisoners at Fires line mons general hospital were killed by guards during a riot. Man Conked on Head Is Taken to Fairmont
Edra Magdalene, 94, was struck on the head by an unknown man at the corner of Sixth and D Streets Sunday night. Passersby told sheriffs they saw the assailant open a trunk, retrieve a crane, and strike Magdalene twice before fleeing in a car. Peter Okinda, proprietor of the Puerto Rican Club, said Magdalene and the other man had argued prior to the assault. Magdalene was taken to Kaltes Mank Hospital.

GRAND RAPIDS Michigan Donald Dewalt a former chemistry instructor at the University of California and Stanford University was arrested today for refusing to perform manual labor at a conscientious objectors camp. District Attorney Joseph Deeb said Devalit would engage only in chemical research while at Germfask. Devalit, a native of Arendia California, was paroled to Germfask after eight months of a one year sentence at McNeil Island prison for violating the selective service law.
