First Woman from Hayward Joins Marine Corps
Sergeant Carmon C. Dominguez becomes the first woman from Hayward to volunteer for the Marine Corps. She reports for duty at Philadelphia and is in charge of the finger-print department at the Marine Corps Induction Station after seven months of service. A 1943 Hayward High School graduate, she received training at Buster's College and is visiting her parents during a fifteen-day furlough.
