Pioneer Bill Allen died Saturday in Elay ward where he was born at 77. He helped found the first Horul Inurchanidise store with Marea and Alexander Aven along the fist gelllery. The Manny howe address is 1041 1H street. The obituary notes his ties to San Fran and local lore.
A memorial notice honors a Hayward resident who played in the Hayward band for 35 years and helped build many homes. Daughters and a sister remember him, listing family, including Mrs. Vait Sansley, Martha Russe, and Mrs. Mother Taylor. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning in Oakland.

Monday was a busy day at the Memorial building on Alain Street where County Tax Collector Earl Twomey and six assistants collected county taxes. Three lines formed reaching from the door along Le D Street.
