Charles Robinson of 940 A Street died at Fairmont Hospital at 12:40 PM after an ambulance rushed him there Tuesday afternoon. His landlady Mrs. J A Jepson called the hospital when Robinson had an attack. He had been ill for some time and was under care. autopsy to determine cause of death.

A 23 year old Navy wife and mother, Sophia Kearns, was found strangled in a hallway of her apartment building yesterday. Police say Sophia Aguon left her 13 month old daughter with Mrs. Kearns and cannot locate where the victim spent her final evening.
A three-axle truck trailer broke its hitch on Pleaston Livermore Road Tuesday night. Three hundred boxes of tomatoes spilled for 430 feet across the roadway and onto a railroad right of way. The driver was George Manuel Ferreira of Santa Clara.
Claudine Arlette Johnson of Berkeley lost control Tuesday after a right front tire blew out. Her cart swerved onto a lawn at 21286 Redwood Rd, striking a fence and shrubbery as she was east on Strobridge Ave and turning into Tredwood Rd.
The Red Cross Blood Donor Unit collected 179 pints yesterday at Hayward, exceeding the 100 pint quota. Chairman Mrs. Clarence A. Poole announced plans to send the unit to Sacramento Valley and Army camps lacking donors, as Oakland Red Cross expands its outreach and thanks local club members for reaching ten or more donations.
Poultry and turkey raisers are invited to attend a one day conference at 9:50 a m in Agricultural Hall at the University. Decoto resident Rawoty Caraballo, 9, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant charging assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at 2000 by Washington Township Justice Court. He had been discharged from Fairmont Hospital after a brawl in a Decoto pool hall in which he allegedly attacked Felix Flores, 24, with a knife and was beaten by a bystander.
Three vehicles were involved in an afternoon wreck on the Milpitas Warm Springs road. Primo Squeri of San Jose, driving a fuel, attempted to pass a sedan driven by George Mayberry of San Jose. Mayberry pulled into the center lane, Squeri struck Mayberry’s rear, then sideswiped a pickup driven by Earl Wilson of Mountain View. no injuries were reported.

The civilian defense office in Hayward is to be discontinued by city council action near month end. Miss Einar Pesegu, Frager's secretary, is also on vacation, delaying housing bureau work and leaving servicemen's families with only the Red Cross for housing assistance.
