Hayward Man Dies in Hollywood Car Crash
Sprague Cotter, 32, Hayward native and former deputy sheriff, died in an automobile collision in Hollywood about 2 AM yesterday. He was a graduate of Hayward schools and is survived by a wife and a 5-year-old son. Cotter had worked as a traffic officer at Culver City and was visiting Hayward six weeks ago.

Tanks Being Moved At Valley School
Tanks are being moved at Castro Valley School as a prelude to widening the valley highway from Fosthill boulevard to the Dublin canal intersection. The project costs about 2060 dollars, borne by the state. A large fuel oil tank of 50 barrels is being moved and new septic tanks will replace the old. The work should finish this week.

Three Injured In Auto Wrecks Near Heyward
Three persons were hurt in separate Anson county auto crashes near Heyward last night. Hindio Lugo, 12, suffered a fractured left shin when the arm he rode in veered off Crow Caaron Road. He was taken to Central hospital by C. H. Mathewson and Fay Anthony as Highland hospital ambulance responded. Several other boys escaped serious harm. Hilda Cordoza of Mount Eidsa and her mother Mrs Rosz Cordoza were injured when Cordoza’s car struck a line of a truck on Hathaway streets. Miss Cordoza had a deep cut on the forehead and her mother bruises on the chest. Cordoza’s son Joe was in the car as well.
