Soldier Returns Home After 21 Months In South Pacific
Pvt. David Vierra arrived home after twenty nine months of duty in the South Pacific with the combat engineers on New Guinea Hollandia and Biak. He served seven months in front line action and was one of five from his group to receive furloughs under the Army troop rotation. He leaves behind his brother Sgt Henry Vierra who recently transferred to another island. After a 21 day furlough he will report to Santa Barbara for reclassification.
