Three Men Hurt As Auto Leaves Road in Canyon
Three Alameda building contractors were injured when their car failed to turn on Jensen road in Dublin canyon Thursday morning. Jacob Booch, 59, sustained a possible hip fracture while James R. Dalton and Ben Helferson suffered cuts and brush injuries. They were taken to Heyward Central hospital by Andrew Oliver after the vehicle rolled over a bank about 150 feet.

Self defense claim ends manhunt for liquor trial witness killer
Vincent Lucich, also known as Lucchi, surrendered in San Francisco and admitted killing Melville G. Sturdevant, a key liquor conspiracy trial witness. He said he shot in self defense, while the wounded Mrs. Grace Berri was taken to hospital. Sturdevant’s body was found near Tomales Bay after a drive with Berri and Lucich ended in gunfire.
