Two Children Burned in Tar Fire Accident
Two children in Fairmont suffered severe burns after a can of burning tar exploded near a bonfire at a residence. Two Sailors Rob Beat Valley Youth Near Castro Valley
Brent Morris son of A B Morris Castra Valley school superintendent reported to sheriff officers that he was beaten and robbed by two sailors on Redwood rand yesterday afternoon. He picked up two sailors along the highway toward Castro Valley and drove a short distance before one navy man forced him to stop and exit. His wallet containing twenty dollars was taken and Morris said one sailor assaulted him. The two fought and Morris suffered minor injuries. The car and the boat were abandoned near Boehmer Hill.

Two Plead Not Guilty To Hit and Run Case
Pleas of not guilty were entered in court this morning by two men linked to automobile accidents. Daniel Rodrigues, 39, of Russell City, charged with hit-and-run felony after the death of Robert G. McFarland, 23, of Russell City, with a May 15 preliminary hearing date and $2000 bail. Elmer Williams, 2, of Russell City, charged with involuntary manslaughter, has a May 6 preliminary hearing. Williams is held in connection with the April 26 death of Jamies Foss Wetzel, 48, struck by a car on Dunn Road.
