Potential USC Orchestra Broadcast Promises Elite Wednesday Evening

The 20-30 Broadcast may bring the University of Southern California orchestra to the Ayward district for a Wednesday evening program on station K2M. The event aims to debut new artists and showcase a wide variety of acts, with plans to feature KFRC vocal talent if secured.

Hasejo Class Plans Evening Church Session

Suspected hit and run driver found in San Francisco ties

Frederick J. Schott, an automobile salesman for H. C. Harrison in San Francisco, was booked on possible driving while intoxicated after a suspected hit-and-run at East 14th Street and 67th Avenue. Federated Club mulls bylaw change for presidents as delegates

The Federated Improvement club plans to amend its bylaws to let club presidents automatically serve as delegates to the combined representative meeting. Currently three delegates from each club sit in. President N. C. P. Morse says the change would boost enthusiasm and unify the federation as it studies a water front plan to dredge a channel for freight boats along the Hayward estuary.

Bond Vote Looms As Hiyward High Seeks 40000 Debt

Mrs Lee Schantz Called by Death

Olita V Schantz wife of Lee Schantz of Aiden road died at a local hospital at age 48 after a recent operation. Funeral services will be held May 5 at 1 30 from the Sorensen brothers chapel followed by burial in Stockton cemetery. She was a respected Harvard area resident and leaves a husband two parents a son and a brother plus several in laws. She was a member of Eastern Star and led the San Lorenzo Fire Girls.

Walter Flierl Named Deputy Coroner in Hayward Region

Walter Flierl of Pratt Mortuary was appointed deputy coroner for Hayward yesterday by Coroner Grant Miller. He previously served as Oakland deputy for years and had a Hayward stint until county administration changes. The community hopes his workload remains light given the usually unfortunate nature of the duties.

Irvington Man Ends Life With Shotgun In Barn

Henry Clay Brewer, 55, of Irvington, dead by self inflicted gunshot Sunday morning. He told wife he planned to shoot gophers behind the barn before taking his life. Funeral at Sorensen Brothers parlors Hayward May 8 with Irvington Odd Fellows cemetery burial. Survivors include two daughters Mrs Wilforn Nelson and Jean Brewer and a brother J M Brewer.
