The Alamede County Athletic League voted to reinstate Hayward Caion High School after vandalism suspensions of Harvard and Richmond. Reinstatement came despite protests that the penalties were too severe. Practice was delayed by two weeks of rain and schedules were revised to include all league contests.

Mystery motors at Independent school baffle deputies
Motors stolen from the Independent school well over the past two months prompt patrols and guard duty. A one half horsepower motor worth about 35 dollars vanished with its gear, while a second theft left the well gear missing. Police report thieves may sell to a distant fence, with several local farms and schools reporting similar losses.

Three Indicted Auto Skids into Graft Probe
Three men, Harry Lesser A. A. Hornege and James Austin, were indicted by the Oakland grand jury investigating bootlegging gambling and graft. Bail set at 20000 for Lesser and 2500 for each of the others. Cromwell Ormsby, tied to a separate graft case, surrendered after firing from Florida and is free on 5600 bail. Rain records fall as storms flood streets coast to coast
Rain totals near 14 inches push seasonal rainfall to 13.86 inches at a high school station. Three Die in Plane Crash on Will Rogers Ranch
