Hayward Company F to perform Saturday night drills
Hayward residents are invited to witness a National Guard spectacle with Company F from Hayward. A full platoon will travel to San Jose for a simulated night attack featuring infantry, machine guns, artillery, anti aircraft guns, tanks, chemicals, and planes. The 500 participants from Bay Area units will watch and learn, followed by a dance at a nearby resort.

In Alvarado Monday night M. P. B. Cannon of Sacramento and Miss Gertrude Gorman of Oakland were injured when Cannon's car hit a heavy truck. Both were taken to Hayward General hospital with Cannon having a broken arm and severe cuts while Gorman suffered contusions. Hayward officer E. Macabee called for a state traffic patrol investigation. An additional Sunday collision at Niles road and Sorensen lane involved Fred Wagner Jr. and W. F. James.
