City weighs Memorial park dedication for Hayward vets
At the June meeting the Hayward council set Armistice Day November 11 as the dedication date for Memorial park. Mayor John Lee Wilbur said the site has never been formally dedicated and a committee led by Mrs Ruth Rogers will plan the Armistice Day ceremony. Plans include an entryway or fountain and park road improvements are finished. The park will host the Alameda County Farm Product show in August and the 1930s Hayward Twenty-Thirty club seeks a site for a swimming pool at the next meeting.
