Tennyson Man Killed In Oakland Street Crash
William Stukaloff, 33, a prominent Tennyson resident, was killed when a driver named Arthur Smoot of San Jose struck a PG&E work crew on 35th and Allendale in Oakland. Four others were injured, two gravely. Stukaloff died en route to Highland County Hospital. He leaves wife Haida and four children and was a longtime Tennyson Improvement Club member. The body rests at Grant Miller mortuary pending inquest.

Plan for new bus circuit gains city council approval
E S Warren presented a plan for an improved Stayward bus service to the city council. The proposal envisions eliminating or shortening the Har ward line stop on Castro street and a loop through the upper district to save time. Warren suggested a 5 cent local fare and possible Castro Valley inclusion, noting current Hayward service duplicates Key System routes. Installation could spur eastern Stayward growth as new tracts open along upper B street.

Harvard's American Legion band under Lee B. Hillings received 3500 from the city council to fund a year of concerts. The city will advance 250 at once and pay the rest as events proceed, with performances at the San Leandro Cherry Festival the Farm Products show, the Réwell ranch rodeo, a Half Moon Bay joint concert, and the Martinez installation.
