Man Shot Thru Show Case And Window Lives
George Abben a focal realtor was thrust through the center entrance show case into the main window when his Maxwell Four auto lunged forward in a noon accident at The Hayward Toggery on B street. Abben escaped with a cut left hand and bruised leg. Mrs Edith Dillingham suffered shock but no serious injury. Front of the shop suffered about 600 dollars damage, mainly glass. insurance on either vehicle or store front was not carried.

Pair of would-be car thieves stopped after deputy chases
At about 3 am on Main street Officer George R. Vierra fired to halt two youths, Frank Joseph aged 14 and Joseph Gomez aged 16, who attempted to steal a Ford belonging to Tilden Lumber Co. They fled, stopped when warned, and were jailed in Alameda county. They carried a keyring of auto tools but no weapons. The car was kept behind Meyer grocery and later moved toward Main street.
