Lockjaw kills Castro Valleyite T Reasoner 36
T Reasoner 36 of 6585 Williams St Castro Valley died of Lockjaw last week in an Outland hospital. He suffered third degree burns July when burning paint with a gasoline blow latch and rolled on ground to put out the fire. A small daughter with first degree burns recovered. Funeral services were held Saturday in Oakland. He leaves a wife Lola and four children Theodore Calancette Sandra and Renee, plus father William and sister Sarah England. His mother died this month. Four brothers William Stephen Calvin and John in Hollywood survive. He was a member of the Latter Day Saints of Ulndon.

Local Man Receives Presidential Unit Citation for Guadalcanal Service
Chief Petty Officer Ralph H. Horton husband of Mrs Donna Morton of 788 Seventh St. is awarded the Presidential unit citation for his work on the aircraft carrier Enterprise and as a member of the First Marine Division which made the initial Guadalcanal landing. Horton, aviation chief radioman, serves on a South Pacific island and is a veteran of four years sea duty. He previously served on the Lexington in 1942, returned home for radar training, then joined Enterprise. Horton has a two months old son, David, living with his wife and grandparents in Hayward.
