Hayward Lions Tour Oakland Weather Station Visit
Hayward Lions attended a Wednesday night tour of the Oakland airport weather station with 53 members and guests. Peter Verzic did not attend the arranged airplane ride, and the group heard a detailed briefing from Mr Little, chief of the Oakland weather bureau, about the station’s instruments. The Lions praised the visit and reiterated belief that the region will become the airport center of the universe. President Joseph T. Sims commended members for conduct during the event.

S Lorenzen Murdered Near Ashland by Hit and Run Driver
S Lorenzen, a 45 year old San Lorenzo resident, died after a hit and run near Ashland. Police from three Eastbay cities joined the search for the unidentified driver who fled the scene around 9 pm Wednesday. Two truck drivers found the victim and took him to Fairmont hospital where he died.
