About 50 homing pigeons from Los Angeles and Sacramento flew from Hayward Native Sons hall to home lofts 100 to 200 miles away while judges assessed the birds. Attendance topped 1,200 with exhibitor totals near 50 as awards awaited Saturday.

James D. Young of Fairview Avenue suffered minor cuts and bruises after his light car collided with Ed Nicholson's heavier vehicle at D Street and First Streets Thursday night. Young's car lost two wheels and Nicholson's car mounted the curb, crashing into a fence at Senator F. H. Christian's lawn. Dr. F. A. Brown treated Young and Patrolman F. E.
