The spring term of Hayward's evening high school began with classes for adults and continuation pupils. Registration is fifty cents per pupil for the semester, regardless of courses. Superintendent Fred Johnson expressed hope for sufficient enrollment to revitalize several previously abandoned classes in shorthand Spanish and citizenship.

Citizens Act To Expand Health Program In Alameda County

Runaway Tractor Injures Girl Near Palmont Hospital
A runaway tractor owned by Alameda County Yard Department struck a car and crashed into Lee's Grocery on Highway 40 near 150th Street, causing minor injuries to three year old Florence Farry of Livermore who was riding in the car. She was treated at Palmont Hospital for bruises. The tractor’s driver, Gene Parry, could not explain how it started moving. The incident occurred at 6:20 p.m.
