Last Honors Paid Mrs Mary C Brown in Thursday Rites
Relatives and friends of Mrs. Mary Carrie Brown mourned at her bier Thursday after a San Jose death Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held at Sorensen Brothers mortuary with Rev. George G Saywell of Hayward delivering the sermon. Interment followed at Mount Eden cemetery beside her late husband as Hayward Odd Fellows pallbearers served. She died after a brief illness with pneumonia at her daughter Mabel Haywood’s home in San Jose. She was born in Scotland 78 years ago and spent 40 years in the United States. She leaves two sons Henry A Brown of Newaygo Michigan and William M Brown of Chicago, a sister Mrs Charles Wineland of Ashland Oregon, and granddaughter Miss Hazel Haywood of San Francisco.
