The Second Annual Pacific Rabbit Breeders Show closed after a four day run at Native Song hall. Hayward leaders H G Bliss and Edward Korstad presided as San Jose's Jack Villar helped manage. Coops were pooled to cut display costs, funds go toward bigger prizes in 1928. Quail Hunt Shooting Wounds Two in Canyon Near Hayward
Four Oakland men Frank Johnson John Edwards Frank Perry and Joe Gomes set out for quail in Cull Canyon six miles northeast of Hayward Sunday morning. Edwards fired striking Perry in the eye and Gomez in the face and neck. Johnson was uninjured. Deputy D. F. Pratt conveyed the wounded to Hayward Central Hospital and they were later moved to Highland Hospital in Oakland.

Tile Works at Niles Burns to Ground Sunday
Fire at the Frank Thomas Tiles Works on the San Jose highway near Hayward destroyed the plant after 12 noon. Overheated kilns were blamed for the blaze as Decoto Niles Centerville and Newark fire departments fought flames with water shortages and oil fueling additional ignition. The plant had operated about two years.
