Last week 2700 acres of beans were treated for thrips aphis and army worms using a sulphur mix. Contracts include a 390 acre Dos Palos project with beans melons and cotton to be dusted. Rush Rabbits Enter Exhibits in Stockton and Syracuse

Man Held For One Year Absence In California
Hjalmar C A Braun, itinerant worker, returned to the region after an 11 year separation from his wife in Liver Moor. He was arrested on a charge of failure to support his 11 year old child and held on $1000 bail. Braun, a former member of Company H, Fifth California infantry, pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing.

Operation Fatal To Newark Man
Yoshio Ando of Newark died Monday morning at Hayward Central hospital following an operation. He was born in Japan 27 years ago. He survived by a brother, Fumio Ando, also of Newark. Funeral services will be held by Pratt mortuary at his Newark home at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, followed by interment at the California columbarium.
