The tri plane Pride of Los Angeles from Los Angeles in the Dole prize flight to Honolulu dived into San Francisco Bay near Oakland Airport at 1 12 today after arriving from LA. Captain James L Griffin navigator Theodore Lundgren and passenger Lawrence Weill were uninjured. The aircraft touched water, wheels and rigging were damaged, and rescuers ferried the crew to shore.

Two More Paved Streets Opened Now to Vehicles
The city completes this year’s paving program with Second and Third streets opened to traffic after weeks of closure for Warrenite surfacing. The project cost about 50000 dollars, adding roughly 12 blocks of new pavement this summer. Second street runs from A street to Buena Vista avenue, with a steep non skid section, while Third street covers A to D streets. Sudden Death Takes George Wolter From Harvard Community
George Wolter a 78 year old cornetist and service station assistant died at Hayward General Hospital after a heart attack earlier this week. A private funeral and cremation will be held Saturday. He lived in Harvard three years after moving from the Far East, and two sisters in Swarthmore Pa have been notified.
