Police Nab Boys For Petty Theft
Three Oakland boys were booked at Hayward substation for petty thefts including snatching a purse from Miss Lucille Engelhardt at 1 28 a m in San Leandro and stealing gas from a tractor behind Hayward High School. Police stopped the car with the trio at 4 a m and they admitted the snatching and theft. An investigation into actress Arlina Judie divorc e was opened by the State's Attorney William J Tuohy.

Youths Fire Accident Near Home Injures Man
Two 14 year olds, Merlyilda Siva and another boy, were shooting at bottles near a telephone pole when a stray shot struck Gonzales. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. in Niles Canyon as the youths fired toward an alrthouse. Siva admitted the misfired shot. The scene involved a nearby man named Sigil Sligulde and the injured party was taken to an alrthouse for treatment.

Council Recommends Vestal To Head Area Recreation
The Alameda County advisory council recommends Vestal for superintendent of the Maynard Area Recreation District.
