Hollywood reports that Gloria Dickson, 27, a blonde film actress, died in a hillside fire that destroyed her home. Her pink slip clad body was found in an upstairs bathroom with her dog nearby. Her husband William Fitzgerald, a Marine veteran and former boxer, failed to enter the blaze and collapsed upon learning of her death. Mil Johnson of 1056 Medford Avenue Hayward California is a staff sergeant in the field artillery with the Ninth Army in Hannover Germany. He enlisted after Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and had a prior three year hitch from 1937 to 1940. Johnson's mother Mrs Claude Johnson notes his letters home and reading Maynard Review. The sergeant's father Claude Johnson served in the last war and was recalled to duty in 1941 as a captain in the quartersmasters corps.
