Ladies of Hayti Organize Civic League

The Chamber of Commerce invited Hayti women to form a Civic League. Officers include Mrs. J. W. Johnson president and Mrs. H. J. Reinhard first vice president. A committee to draft laws and another to discuss station grounds beautification were named. Meeting adjourned for March 7 at 7 30 PM with many locals in attendance. The league invites all Hayti women to join and improve the town.

Citizens Volunteer to Help Clean City

At a Chamber of Commerce meeting last Monday the Civic League's civic efforts were praised and volunteers were urged to clean the city. The ditch near the road to Caruthersville was a dumping site for years. volunteers, led by P. S. Ravenstein, spread rubbish and covered it with earth. Work finished by noon Tuesday with several other sites to follow, showing public pride and community spirit in the Old Home Town.

Marriage Licenses Issued This Week in Missouri

Ten Thousand Dollar Request to Aid Southeast Missouri Bureau

Cape Girardeau county representative Wilson Cramer has introduced a Missouri legislature bill to appropriate 10000 to fund exhibits in Union Station St Louis to attract immigrants. The measure backs by the State Board of Agriculture and seeks up to 6000 per year with exhibition title kept by the Missouri Department of Agriculture.

Local Duroc Farm To Show Movie Scenes

L Nall manager of Sycamore Duroc Farm near the city says he has arranged with The Empreze Theatre to show an extra large reel of color swine pictures. Produced for breeders by Quaker Oats, the film depicts grand champions from eight breeds shown at the Des Moines National Swine Show and scenes of farms and proper management. Date to be announced once copies arrive and time fixed by the National Swine Growers Association.
