Red Men Banquet In Hayti Celebrates Growth And Fellowship
A Hayti assembly at the city hall hosted by the local Tribe of Red Men featured a social and supper for members and families. Rev. Fallin presided while H L Davidson and B S Stearns spoke on the order’s growth and beauty, noting Pemiscot County’s more than 70 Red Men in eight months. Estill D. Guffy Dead After Runaway Accident
Estill D. Guffy, longtime Oklahoma City attorney and former Owensboro citizen, died from brain concussion suffered in a runaway near Beaver Dam on November 28, 1809. He had been traveling from Owensboro after attending Federal court in Morgantown to visit family. Remains to Morgantown for interment. brother Bayless L. Guily attended funeral.

Doctors Meet in Pemiscot County and Red Men Organize
At Caruthersville the Pemiscot County Medical Society elected Dr. M H Hudgings as president and Dr J C Farris as vice president with Dr M B Hendricks as secretary and Dr H T Byers as treasurer. The next session will be January in Caruthersville. Members agreed doctors would not visit those unable to pay for services. H L Davidson plans to organize a Red Men tribe at Poplar Bluff and meet in Kansas City. Postmaster nomination Bob Crow approved by Senate. Culpepper & Dever offer free engraving. Otis Popham joins Herald printing efforts. Swan's Meat Market advertises fresh meats and poultry.
