Lawns Prosper At Bellevue Square Housing Project
Patches of clay and mud have been replaced with cool lawns and shrubs at the Bellevue Square housing project. The beautification program, begun this spring, covers 500 families in a 16 acre Hartford slum area now transformed with new turf. Stephen Donahue of the Hartford Housing Authority says repainting and interior landscaping will follow in fall. Residents were urged to stay off the seedings and cooperated well, especially along the Canton Street boundary.
