The United Negro ColleerFund closed its annual drive with a June 21 gala Fashion Show at the Ann St. YWCA. Net proceeds reached 112.50 with Sage Allen department store donating 25.00 and clothing valued at 60.00. Models included Mrs Preston Harris and Barbara Horehead among others, with groups featuring juveniles Teeners and an adult lineup. A bridal segment showcased Miss Tacqueline Strong and Roland Richardson. Music was provided by Mrs Arthur Jenkins, Mrs Victoria Hicks, and Mrs Mary McGill. chairwoman Mrs Charles H DeMond offered thanks.

Delegates from Texas St Louis Ohio Pennsylvania and other states clashed over regional setups and greater national flexibility while Boston Cincinnati and Philadelphia pressed for changes in the national office.
