Reading Railway Tops Rosewood In All-Island League Thriller

In Harrisburg last evening Reading Railway beat Rosewood 6 to 5 to take a slim one game lead in the Allison Hill league race. Reading held a one two two run edge before a late Rosewood rally, with George Swartz delivering a long fifth inning homer and Earl Waltz striking out eight for the winners. Rosewood, captained by Shafer, kept the pressure in the final frame but fell short as Reading and Rosewood had traded the lead in three straight contests. The two teams meet again Friday night as both chase the top spot.
