Batak Church ordains 42 pastors in Indonesia ceremony

The Batak Christian Protestant Church of Indonesia ordains 42 pastors, bringing total ordained to 169 for 670,000 members. Indonesian Pastor Epho rus Justin Sthombing led the service with 80 national pastors and Dr. Arne Sovik of the Lutheran World Federation assisting. Over 2,000 attended, with 1,200 outside listening via loudspeakers under a temporary pavilion. The church interior held 800, with women to the right and men to the left per Ratak custom.
