Gillespie County juniors represented Fredericksburg FFA at the Junior Market Steer Show in Dallas with participants Glenn Rode Carolyn Ketron Daryl Tatum Suzan Garrettson Daniel Behrends and Kevin Malechek supervised by Yo-Ag Instructors Joe Tatum and Mike Jung Lyle Malechek showed a Hereford Steer at the event.
Gillespie County farmers describe nitrogen fertilization on NK-37 coastal bermuda transforming a sparse 34 acre stand into thick growth with better grazing and moisture retention. I thank my friends and Kerrville Telephone Co employees for kindness during my hospital stays. Their flowers cards prayers and well wishes were deeply appreciated and I am grateful to Dr Packard Dr Jones and the hospital staff for their efforts to make my stay pleasant.

Gillespie County Farm Bureau members at the West Gillespie County Fair Grounds held a barbecue dinner and annual meeting to elect officers. Mervin Greene was named president and Richard Asper and Edgar Ahrens named as leaders with four directors re elected. Nine delegates were chosen for the state convention in San Antonio, with Lawrence Hartmann and Marvin Grona among others. Delegates plan for by law changes and a floor election for state president.
Gillespie ASC County Committee urges wool and mohair growers to file sales receipts for 1909 marketings to secure payments. 1969 payments align with incentive levels. 1968 rates 69 cents wool and 77.4 cents mohair. 1970 short wool incentive set at 72 cents. mohair support at 80.2 cents.
