The Stick Club veterans from World War I met Oct. 9 10 at Legion Hall and Ag Building for a barbecue. The club organ ized in 1938 has 23 charter members and 140 total. A Memorial Service honored deceased members and widows. The 6th Fredericksburg gathering noted 1977 plans Oct 8-9.
Thirteen new members joined the Fredericksburg Young Farmers Chapter at a chili and tamale supper October 7 at Gillespie County Fair Grounds Barn. About 75 to 80 people attended, praising organizers Lofus Nielsen Clinton Joe Staudt Kenneth Lindig and Dennis Henke for food and hospitality. The meeting honored longtime chapter advisor Joe Tatum and other guests while naming a committee to plan the Hunters Dance on November 20. new members include Dorian David Mike Summers Van Brown Lee Roy Pehl Eugene Whitehead Leon Petsch Gordon Klein Wayne Petsch Charles Meier Benno Jenschke Jr Daniel Jenschke Darrell Petsch and Freddie Zenner.
