The Texas Highway Commission approves 18 9 200 for Farm to Market road improvements for 1965. About 3 305 miles will be reconstructed widened resurfaced and seal coated with extensive bridge work planned. Farm Bureau fire demonstration links fires to causes
Texas Farm Bureau safety director Joe Smetana led a 45 minute program at Kerrville High School and other Texas schools to show seven fire facts and the three legs of the fire triangle. He warned fires start from fuel heat and ignition and highlighted kitchen fires fuel vapors and petroleum products. The event drew about 45,600 students during 1962-63 and will continue nationwide through year end with future demonstrations planned.
