The General Conference authorized its Board of Evangelism to appoint delegates to national labor unions medical associations and social service groups and to plan a 1946 church-wide evangelism push aimed at uprooted war survivors labor industrial and college groups with a goal of about 800000 new members half from non church groups and half from nominal Methodists not enrolled. It notes the Seaman's Church Institute centennial near Manhattan and its seafaring aid programs.
The General Conference says Christians support the present use of force, noting over a million Methodist young men are sent to the struggle. God will uphold them as they fight, and they pray for victory. They repudiate the view that the state should not fight against intolerable wrongs.
