Agriculture To See Major Changes Bill Oliver Tells FFA Banquet Guests
Bill Oliver, Kerrville vocational agriculture teacher, told the Future Farmers of America banquet that Texas farming will shrink in numbers but grow in unit size. He warned land values and taxes would rise, and more farm owners would be nonfarmers or corporations. He stressed education, leadership, cooperation, and open-mindedness as keys to competing in future agriculture. Curtis Cameron and N J Dietel received top awards, with medals and plaques awarded to several students. A barbecue dinner followed a full house at the fairgrounds.
