Pvt James R Burkhardt son of Mr and Mrs F T Burkhardt of Kerrville Texas arrived at Ladd Air Force Base Alaska and serves in the 71st Infantry Division 4th Regiment He is a 1954 UT Austin graduate who entered the Army last September and finished basic at Fort Bliss Texas Soldiers in Alaska train for cold weather combat while guarding northern US approaches.
Mrs. Fred Bierschwale and her children visited their husband and father Fred Bierschwale and also Mr and Mrs Jerry Bierschwale and family in Big Springs this weekend.
