Lexington Survivor Remains Loyal to Duty Amid Sinkings
The Lexington crewman, 21, 9 months, Trolley Sembritzky, served as main-drive electrician. He stayed at his post during the May 8 torpedo attack, and would have stayed to the end. He slid into the sea with a rope, was rescued by a destroyer, and survived as the Lexington disappeared at 8 p.m. after multiple enemy assaults. captain Sherman later led the ship’s final exit and retrieved his dog Admiral Wags.
