Supreme Court upholds Communist registration law in 5 to 4 decision

The Supreme Court today sustains Congress and the Communist Registration Act in a 5 to 4 ruling. Chief Justice Warren and Justices Black Brennan and Douglas dissented. The decision requires Party officers and members to register, disclose finances, printing facilities, and face fines of up to 10 000 daily for noncompliance. Wendel Reunion Attendees Gather at Liveoak

Attendees from Harper and area gathered for the Wendel reunion at Liveoak Sunday. Lorenz Wendel and A C Wendel led the list with 139 registered. The next reunion is planned for the Lutheran Parish Hall in Cherry Springs. Jack Lee of San Antonio visited for business Saturday.
