The Harper's Presbyterian Church hosts daily sermons at 8 15 by Rev Peyton Waddill of San Antonio with Friday 6 30 supper and Saturday services. Sunday includes a sandwich supper at 6 30 and closing remarks on Christian solidarity and teachers' cooperation.
First Baptist Church announces Sunday School at 10 a m and Worship at 11 a m with prayer meetings weekly and events for various groups. Rev Jack Minter will depart July 26 for revival duties near Texarkana and a revival led by O D Welch is planned Sept 24 through early October. Rev A A Gitter prompts observance of the Sabbath with Masses at 8 and 9 30 a m on Sunday July 25 Communion for St Ann's Society and Youth Sodality. St Ann feast Monday July 26 with 8 a m Mass and Holy Communion for Society. Altar Boys meet after 9 30 a m. 2 p m Executive Board of Women's Council in Fredericksburg. 3 p m joint deanery meeting Men Women Youth followed by sectional meetings. All invited.
A report alleges brutal Communist persecution of Christians, citing torture methods such as dragon lanterns and gasoline-filled wounds. It claims destruction of churches and schools in North China, comparing it to the Boxer era and accusing officials of spying and coercion.
Mr and Mrs Belton Tatsch and their young son visited in the O C Feller home Sunday along with Mrs Metzger and Mr and Mrs Edmund Tatsch for a family gathering.

Jo Ann Kinsey of Harper participated in Southwest Texas State College's 29th Annual Water Pageant held at Sewell Park drawing more than 6 000 attendees. The show themed Showboat depicted old and new entertainment on the river. Mr and Mrs Leonard White and their son from Florida visited Mrs Charles Gammenthaler.
