Te Deum Laudamus Hymn Heralded In Catholic Worship

The Te Deum Laudamus, dating to the fourth century and linked to St. Ambrose and St. Augustine, stands as a historic Eucharistic hymn used for solemn thanksgiving in Catholic churches worldwide at major liturgical moments and end of hostilities. It has many English translations, including Walworths Holy God We Praise Thy Name and Drydens Thee Sovereign God Our Grateful Accents Praise. The hymn is divided into three parts praising the Trinity, Christ the King, and a final petition for the saints.
