Scrap Rubber Collection Ends July 10 Nationwide

The nationwide scrap rubber drive will end Friday July 10. Citizens with old tires tubes hoses and other rubber items are urged to deliver them to nearest service station for a penny per pound. The Gillespie County Salvage Committee led by Commissioner Eugene Kramer reports the effort is below national goals and outlines upcoming scrap metal and grease collection with local committee members listed. Mrs. James Jung underwent an operation at Keidel hospital Fredericksburg on Thursday. Friends wish her a speedy recovery. Mrs. Joe Fiedler is resting nicely in Fredericksburg clinic and hospital and will soon be able to return home.
