Neal Bo Fox, former Schwertnes Texas educator, named superintendent of Harper Independent School District. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s from San Marces Callege and has two years as interim supervisor in Schwertrey. Fox and his wife plan to reside in Schwerther, while she teaches there. The community welcomes him and wishes success for Harper schools.
The Helping Hand Club met at the home of Mrs B P Jones on Thursday evening with sev eral members present. The program opener featured Mrs Stewart and Miss Wendel assisting chairwoman. A later plan announced for March will be dispensed at the hostesses.
The Harper community notes a diamond wedding anniversary for Mr and Mrs Harpe marked by family and church members. Local officiants Father AS AL Gutter and Father Hubert Bauman attended the celebration at St Anathers Church. The couple remains healthy and enjoying the milestone amid local tributes.

About fifty friends of Bobby Kaiser Seabee Fireman First Class enjoyed a social evening arranged by his Sodality Tuesday. Guests played Beano and party games then danced. Lunch with sandwiches cakes cookies followed. Jon Kaiser provided soft drinks. Mr and Mrs J J Rogers and others visited Bob Rogers in Uvalde Sunday.
Clayton Massey finishes 4th, Clarence Ruskey 3rd, Willie Bierschwale 2nd, and Joe Cherry 4th in a local contest. A young girl on the right, Peggy Ann Hopt, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Dean Hopt.
A special Harper P T A meeting is scheduled for February 21 at 3 00 p m in the school building. Officers say important business must be disposed of and urge all members to attend. Mr and Mrs FB R Brown were in Harper Wednesday.
Cerys Tommie Jung receives a promotion to sergeant. Thomas Jung, previously a corporal, has served as an engineer and gunner on a B26 and completed several combat missions.
The Women's Society of Christian Service held its February 14 gathering at Mrs S S Stewart's home. Mrs Trecy Tubin led the devotional and Mrs H A Porter read Psalm 23. G E Pape led the program on Behold I stand at the door with Indian outreach by Mrs Carl Oehler and others.
