Louise Mathisen Clifford Joins Red Cross Nurses in Honolulu
Louise Mathisen Clifford, daughter of Chr Mathisen of Fredericksburg, volunteered for sea duty with the American Red Cross Nursing Service in March 1942 and was sent to Honolulu in April where she remains stationed. Her long career in nursing included training at San Antonio, service at Ft. Sam Houston, Hot Springs, Fort Lewis, Fort Warren, Barnes Hospital, and San Antonio base hospital, culminating as Chief Anaesthetist before resigning in 1940. Audley Casper visited his parents and returned to Houston after service from Charleston, S C, leaving Sunday morning.

Kerrville attorney Walter Petsch died suddenly of heart failure at his Kerrville home on Tuesday at age 44 11 21. Joseph Moritz 82 pioneer of Fredericksburg and Gillespie County died Friday at Keidel’s hospital. Born November 27 1860 in Gillespie County he was a stonemason who helped build the Texas State Capitol.
