Registration for selective service in Gillespie County runs August 30 to September 13. Local chair C D Jordan lists sites in Fredericksburg Willow City Stonewall Harper and cross county options for Blanco Kerr Kendall and Llano residents. On Monday morning District Judge Ferguson convened the grand jury and disposed of several criminal cases. Lawr ence Fritz charged with burglary was dismissed. Chester L. Carnes charged with child desertion. William Ira Joy charged with drunken driving. James V. Greeson charged with liquor law violation pleaded guilty with a $100 fine and costs. John Tinney charged with liquor law violation pleaded guilty with a $100 fine and costs. In civil matters Martin Lindig’s minority disabilities were removed. Henry Borchcers et al versus D L Dikeman went to a jury, but the jury was discharged and the case settled by agreement.
