Fredericksburg Chamber Discusses County Agriculture Plan
About fifty Fredericksburg Chamber members met at Sunnyside Terrace for a quarterly session. They proposed a county led agriculture project seeking county state and federal funding to match chamber funds for diversification in farming marketing and shipping. The plan would require an extension worker from USDA or Texas A and M and would cost about 2950 dollars annually, half funded by the chamber. If approved funds would come from Gillespie County Commissioners Court and possibly State Extension Service within a year. The vote passed 24 to 17 from 41 ballots.
