Clothing Aid for War Victims Planned by United Nations
The United National Clothing Collection led by Henry J. Kaiser seeks 150 million pounds of used clothing in April to aid war ravaged Europe and Asia. Roosevelt endorses the appeal as Americans respond to emergencies with generosity, while relief groups coordinate distribution to restore health and dignity. New Hampshire joins debates on federal aid and road bills, arguing against large federal expenditures and predicting debt and taxes for soldiers.
