September term district court adjourns to next Wednesday

District Court adjourns with jurors to return next Wednesday. Two divorces granted Ina Prim from Hal Prim and Bra Sure Vinton from Bert Vinton. Several drainage cases disposed. In the Cundiff matter Citizens Bank received judgment. More judgments listed against various defendants in the district court docket. Annual Hardin County teachers institute planned for October 18 and 19 with all county schools closed. Local editors visit Eldora. plans for future meeting discussed.

City Dads Hold Meeting and Fill Ward Vacancy

The City Council met in regular session and filled the unexpired term of IL H. Nazett by appointing Jay Newcomer after Nazett moved to the second ward. They plan to reuse three old wells along with the new well for emergency use and to reduce pumping of the new well due to hard water. They also ordered a new light for the corner of 10th Street and 19th Avenue and discussed the city dump and ground selling terms. N. S. Carpenter to review dump matter and Leo Mack) to oversee acreage pricing of 160 per acre.

Meeting of Community Club at Methodist Church

The annual Community Club meeting drew a large crowd at the Methodist church. Supper was served by the parish ladies, then a program featured Mrs J C Boyd, Jack Leonard, Howard Moffett, Mrs F H Herrald, Ruth Speers, Helen Gethman, and remarks by Congressman Robinson. Officers were elected, noting calls for a part time secretary and monthly club feeds. Budget contributors included First National Bank, County National Bank, Citizens Savings Bank, and many local businesses.

Savoy Cafe Reopening Nearing Public Meals Start

Re open Savoy Cafe run by E Taylor of Peoria Illinois will begin serving the public for meals and short orders on Saturday. Building on an addition by Chas Eydick to his garage the room 12428 is being built with hollow tilg. nit will host forge and blacksmith tools until completion. The big bus operating between Ames and Waterloo plans to enlist Mas Eldora. it is described as a big one and a dandy.

Tuberculosis Demonstrations Draw Big Farm Bureau Attendance

About 250 farmers attended the Sherman event in the morning and nearly 800 in the afternoon for tuberculin demonstrations. Three reactors were slaughtered and the Training School animal was found heavily diseased. Dr. J. A. Barger and Dr. K. W. Stouder spoke on eradication and federal roles, urging cleaners to tackle tuberculosis statewide.

Road system hearing notice for Herdin County Iowa

New Church at Buckeye Dedicated and Opened

The Buckeye Lutheran church dedication on Sunday October 12 marks the completion of a Boone select brick building with corner tower and ornate interior. The congregation formed April 27, 1890 and moved worship from a 1908 Richard Vierkandt farm structure later updated by pastor Rev. H C Koepke and Rev. A H Danke. Services feature German and English components, a dedication ceremony, sermons by Koepke and Schmidt, choir selections, and a focus on the unadulterated gospel.

Hammill to Speak Here at Voters Meeting

Lieut Gov Haomimill will address voters Monday evening October 18 in the court house or court room if weather fouls. He will discuss farm prospects as Jay Newcomer and Joe Stricker travel to South and North Dakota to promote agricultural interests. Crops look fine and farmers feel optimistic about the outlook after several lean years.

Eldora 0 Cole edges Eldora in rough home game

New Fish Added to Lake Stocking Effort

State Fisheries stock bayous and ponds along the Mississippi River with game fish to protect winter losses. A shipment of 7600 fish including bass perch crappies and sunfish was sent to Iowa Pine Lake and other areas. If secured a carload will be sent before water closure to create a premier fishing ground. Hospital notes record Jep Delaney of New Providence and Albert Repka of Hubbard undergoing procedures and family visits.

Oppose Road Bonds in Hardin County Vote
