The war president Woodrow Wilson died at 11 15 Sunday morning at his Washington home after four years of ill health. The immediate cause was exhaustion following a digestive disturbance begun earlier in the week. He died peacefully while sleeping. The private funeral was held at his home and his body laid in the vault.

Man Attacks Young Lady in Iowa Falls Incident
An icy sidewalk aided the escape of a larger man who tried to seize Miss Lillian Bolley and Miss Florence inte as they walked home from work near the Methodist church in Iowa Falls Saturday night. The assailant, who wore a split overcoat, clapped a hand over Bolley’s mouth and attempted to drag her but fled after she screamed. Police searched town with no findings.

Erecting New Oil Station by Sinclair Company
The Sinclair Company started work on replacing the Eldora hotel site with an oil station. Crews cleared debris during a blizzard and set up a temporary structure to proceed with the build. October 16 saw the project advance as residents asked when construction would begin. A hydrant leak at the First National corner disrupted water, requiring repairs after water was shut off in the northwest section.

Chicago market letter reports very light cattle receipts early week, with prices rising 26 to 40 cents on medium and good steers while poorer cattle advanced little. Best yearlings near 11.26, fat cows 6 to 7.50, bulls 5 to 6, hogs strong to higher with 7.26 top, sheep and lambs demand very strong finishing 14 to 14.60 for lambs and 18 for feeders. Receipts last week: cattle 62,000. hogs 288,000. sheep and lambs 72,000. A Monday report shows mixed tone with cattle slow to weak but cows steady, hogs opening strong to 10 cents higher, and lambs strong. A parish mission at St Mary’s Church announced by Father Isidore from Chicago runs Feb 17 to 24 with daily sermons and moral talks.
