A Friday double header at the high school gym promises fast games by the girls team from They Prove to be Genuine Successor Deics wil Dayca and the Big Exhibits from Marshalltown high school. Admission is 10 cents for off school children and 26 cents for adults. The gym should be crowded. come out and root for the high school teams.
Secretary BH W Sedvey reports the Hardin County Poultry Show was a complete success and a surprise to Eldora community. Premiums total 320 50 with many birds entered for state shows. The American Association and Iowa clubs offer special prizes, including $10 for best American class and $5 for best ten birds. The 1924 show will be held in Eldora for four days rather than three, with renewed support expected from exhibitors and visitors.
The Hardin County Farm Bureau selected Paul C. Wiechman of Adair County as successor to M. E. Olson as county agent. Wiechman, 32, has spent four years as agent in Adair County and is praised for organizing the county and implementing a program similar to that planned for Hardin in 1924. Debates over proposed tax law charges are drawing strong local interest, with Providence and Hardin township victories in recent matches and semi finals set for Dec 27 at Buckeye, featuring Hardin township vs Elora township. The final, Jan 2 at Alden, will decide the Joanes winner after Buckeye.

Grain writer Glenn Griswold of the Chicago Journal of Commerce argues corn profits will exceed wheat losses and that corn land will rise in value. CornellPersen has arranged a New Year celebration at the M B Church for Cornell night. A banquet and a program of music by Cornell faculty will precede an address by Harlan Undegriff. Town Falls club meets with Eldora in the same celebration. The annual Church of Christ meeting and supper are set for Monday evening with plans for a fine evening.
A fatal automobile accident occurred on the Jefferson highway near the Jackson corner at about 11 pm Sunday. Enoch Larzon drove Mrs Lulu Teater-Smith to town to catch a night train to Waterloo. A pony appeared, the car veered, overturned in a ditch, pinning the passenger under the front seat. Eyewitnesses and county officials helped free her, she died en route to Waterloo. Funeral services were held in Waterloo with burial there.
Yeshwantran P. Bhozale, kin to Kolhapur’s crown prince, stayed in Eldora Week, tracing long friendship from a Boy Scout exchange. He attends the University of Nebraska, studies Agriculture, plans Imperial Indian government service, and praises American life and the Ledger office visit.
