The Ellis community centered around the Filla Church has long nurtured music with bands and orchestras shaping social life. Wesley Schaub inspired early Racine and Ellis ensembles, later guiding a boy scout band and shaping a local heritage linking farming to harmony and cooperation in Iowa’s Hardin County.
